Buzzuka – Bee You

15 Sep

Even in a world filled with startling financial hardships and plummeting unemployment rates, people are still turning to social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter to express their ideas, thoughts and questions. What if there was a networking site that could express your point of view, idea or question, and could potentially connect you with a person or business that could “discover” you?

There happens to be one – Buzzuka- and this site is a little different from the others, as it is geared towards enhancing personal and business success by utilizing the “Buzzuka Pitch Studio.” On their About page, Buzzuka explains that this site is for “everyone, from job-seekers to small businesses owners, college students to company presidents. Entrepreneurs to agencies. Anyone who has a message to share or a story to tell can enhance their personal and business success with Buzzuka. In other words, anyone who needs a powerful pitch to help make a difference – in a job, on a team, with family and friends. A pitch is no longer just about business.”

By building a pitch about what is unique, interesting, relevant and useful about yourself, your abilities or your interests, a person can set themselves up for enormous success in both personal and business ventures.

They aren’t just reaching out to professionals, and because social marketing has become such an important tool for everyone in this generation that, like Buzzuka points out, “It’s about the business of life.”

Check out some of the Sample Pitches that they offer.

There are three types of pitches: Person Pitches, Place Pitches and Thing Pitches. The most popular topic in the Person category is the Career/Resume pitch. But what’s most important to remember, is that at Buzzuka, you can pitch anything.

Pitches can be about anything and everything, but must be short. We are now in a world where timeliness, conciseness and straightforwardness are appreciated, and being able to vocalize the things that are most important in a short time is a very useful tool to have.

Buzzuka 101 is a crash course in understanding the site. It explains things like Buzzuka Lingo, 101 Ways to Use Buzzuka, Buzzuka Pitch Perfect Checklist and other useful tools such as videos and maps.

They even offer a Blog that further explains the uses and practices of Buzzuka.

Paula Satow, one of the founders of the site, said that big things are on the way for Buzzuka. She shared, “In our newest version – due out later this year — we will add a host of new, powerful tools to help micro-preneurs quickly and easily promote their elevator pitch on the web and in the real world of meetings, networking events and sales calls.”

So my question is… what’s your pitch?
